We recently launched a new mobile app and website for Jump Shot Genie. Founded by Dan McGovern and NBA legend Dell Curry, Jump Shot Genie focuses on teaching young basketball players to perfect their shooting techniques.
"We developed Jump Shot Genie to allow players to record and submit their shots from a smartphone or tablet. From there, they will be assigned a personal coach who will provide a detailed shot analysis using voiceover, freeze frame, split-screen and slow motion," said technology lead Dave Gable with The Idea People. Using Curry's exclusive 18-point grading system that reviews all aspects of the shot, the coach provides feedback and shares video drills to help players correct their mistakes.
“NBA coaches use game film every day to analyze and correct professional players form,” said Dell Curry, 16-year NBA shooting guard. “I want young, developing players to have access to the same advantages professional players have. Through Jump Shot Genie’s revolutionary technology, players get the opportunity to receive high-level instruction from coaches they normally would never have the opportunity to interact with.”
Jump Shot Genie is different from everything else on the market because it gives players of all skill levels and ages access to professional coaching. While other apps provide instructions and videos for drills that may improve shooting form, Jump Shot Genie offers feedback and drills to the player’s specific needs. Through our app’s video technology, a coach is able to see exactly what the player needs to correct and provides a series of drills to establish a perfect shooting form.
Chris Foshee, sr. public relations and marketing manager with The Idea People, held a press conference on Wednesday, August 27 with McGovern and Curry to discuss Jump Shot Genie with the Charlotte press.
"Public relations and media outreach can be very effective for new brands and businesses,” said Foshee. “It's a great way to get your story and your product in front of the public eye. In the case with Jump Shot Genie, we helped develop a great product, but that’s only half the battle. You have to make the public aware of your product and its capabilities.” The press conference was held at Charlotte's Dilworth Neighborhood Grille and you can check out the video below!
Development isn’t just about writing code. The very first step in developing a perfect app is figuring out its architecture. Our mobile app development team are senior engineers with technical leadership and back-end system integration experience. "Mobile and tablet app development is very much a moving technology and design target," adds Gable. "We look at the smallest screen first and design the user experience and overall functionality from that point outward to larger screens."
The future in successful mobile and tablet app development is the fusion between the physical device, the user experience and extreme data science. "One of the projects we are working for today includes a large component of data science used for building predictive behavior models for users to form tighter relationships with the brand," says Gable. "We are developing our mobile and tablet programs to give a user a seamless transition from their desktop to their tablet to their smart phone, or the other way around."
If your company's product or service includes a CRM component and the collection and interpretation of collected user data influences purchase or acquisition decisions, we can talk with you and suggest the latest, cutting-edge techniques for integrating mobile and tablet applications.
