The Idea People have been in business for twenty-one years, and now it’s time to celebrate! This Thursday, June 18th The Idea People are hosting a networking event at our office to mark the occasion of our 21st birthday.
The party will have free beer from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, free food-truck cuisine from OooWee BBQ, arcade machines from Abari game bar, the unveiling of our brand new Cruise Cart, live music, and a ceremonial ribbon cutting by the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce!
We love Charlotte, and that’s why we exclusively partnered with local businesses for our event. Each of these businesses adds local flavor to our party and shows our continued commitment to the Queen City.
Olde Mecklenburg Brewery was the first craft brewery in Charlotte and has since become a legendary local institution. In March 2009, OMB opened its doors, at the time Charlotte’s only local brewery. Charlotteans embraced it with a bear hug (that was the authentic German beer talking) and OMB started to build a dedicated following that’s never really stopped growing. Today, in a new, larger space that features a spectacular eight-acre German-style Biergarten, a 60-barrel Brewery, and a dine-in Brauhaus, Charlotte’s oldest brewery continues to grow while staying committed to fresh, local beer.
The OooWee BBQ food truck is one of the many food trucks featured at Food Truck Friday in Historic SouthEnd, and the only one with the delicious BBQ Sundae! Owned and operated by George Leach III, OooWee BBQ offers Charlotteans with signature smoked meats that are organic, free range, and hormone free.
The Abari Game Bar is Charlotte’s first “barcade” opening this summer in NoDa. It will feature craft beer, cocktails, speciality sodas and vintage arcade games, as well as pinball machines and classic video game consoles. Arcade cabinets of Ms. Pac-Man and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles “Turtles in Time” will both be at our party, so get your skills down pat!
Cruise Carts is a Charlotte start-up created by Dustin Adams to provide free, eco-friendly rides around the city. We are pleased to partner with Cruise Carts in sponsoring The IdeaCart, which will help people in the Queen City find free rides to many cool events this summer!
Our very own front-end web developers will be playing live music all night for the party. If you find that hard to believe, you just don’t know The Idea People! We only work with talented, creative and fun individuals, so it was no surprise to us that our developers could shred wicked guitar licks!
You might be asking yourself, “Okay, free beer, free food, awesome music…what’s the catch?!” Relax, man. We just want to introduce ourselves to the Charlotte business community, so that the next time you need a creative website, a new software application, or just help with your social media presence you can say: “I need an idea… Let me call The Idea People!”
